Q: i want to run a computer extension out to my office room in the garden (shed) can i purchase several cables and connect together to reach the office and will the connection be recieved ok or is there a set distance (max) you can run a cable from the router ?
- A: Hi,
To run from your house to the shed, we would recommend you installed a 'single cable' between both. This would help ensure the cable is more weatherproof etc... If you just daisy chain several of these extension cables together outside, then you stand a chance of water ingress at each connection. Unless you sealed each joint of course. How far are you talking about in metres? A single cable though very rarely has the connection on that you require and so you would have to either crimp the ends on yourself or have them made up for you.
