Further information about FireWire Cables

Originally FireWire was developed (by Apple) to move large audio, video and data files, between devices quickly and securely and to compete with USB. It's initial uptake was hindered by it's licensing costs, by FireWires creators and developers, Apple. However, FireWire cable connections are still very popular today and are being used on a lot of Apple devices, like the iPod, Sony's products such as laptops, camcorders, digital cameras, known as S400 & S800 also use this fast transfer technology. Oh and Philips brand it as iLink too.
