S-Video Cable SVHS Male to Male Gold 4 pin mini din 1m. S-Video, also known as Y/C Cable and Super Video, SVHS, is an analog video format. It carries it's video data as two separate signals. Luma (luminance) and chroma (color). This differs from composite video, usually recognised by it's yellow indicator on video equipment, which carries picture information as a single lower-quality signal. S-Video will provide standard definition video (480i or 576i resolution), but does not carry any sound. The 4-pin mini-DIN connector is the most common connector as shown on this page. Other S-Video connector variants include 7-pin locking "dub" connectors used on many professional S-VHS machines and some computers, laptops TV out ports (See related items for 7 pin to 4 pin converter!).
