HDMI over Cat5 Cat6 HD Extender Transmitter and Receiver 30m / 98ft. This single transmitter and single receiver, when connected by 2 network patch cables (cat5 or 6) will provide a high definition extension to your HDMI display and HDMI video player. As Network Cables are cheaper and easier to install over a distance, they then allow you to setup your displays a lot further away than normally possible.
You will need two network cables, and of course 2 HDMI cables, if you haven't got them already in order to make your connection too.
Will provide a 1080p HDMI signal at up to 30m when using CAT 6 Cable. See the following details for other resolutions available when using CAT 6 or CAT5e cables...:
CAT6 - 30m - 1080p
CAT6 - 40m - 1080i / 720p
CAT6 - 45m - 480p
CAT5e - 25m - 1080p

HDMI over Cat5 Cat6 HD Extender Transmitter and Receiver 30m / 98ft

Q: I have just purchased a HDMI splitter to enable me to distribute Sky HD to two different screens. Having realised that the 6m HDMI cable will not fit through the wall that easily I discovered this product but I'm not sure if it works with the splitter. Can you please confirm if this product does work with a splitter? Can you also explain why it needs two network cables and should I get Cat5 or Cat6 cables? Thanks
- A: Hi,
Yes this will work with a HDMI splitter. In order to send the HDMI signal, 2 cables are needed to carry the high bandwidth of digital data that a HD signal produces. If you can, I would always go for a Cat 6, very little difference in overall cost to be honest! Thanks! See our Computer Cables > Network Cables dept for details...

Q: Have just bought 3D Blueray. Need to know if you have an HDMI 1.4 transmitter receiver pair capable. Also switch box/ multiplexor.
Thank you- A: Hi,
While 1.4 cables have been around for a while, 1.4 version hardware is a bit slow off the mark. We are expecting to see 1.4 hardware during early next year arrive into stock with us. Nothing at present though! Thanks

Q: I have a Ethernet Powerline 400mbps... so can I plug the transmitter into my router and the reciever into the Ethernet Powerline.. if I do that will it still be able to transmit video?? this way i dun have to have a wire running down my lounge... can I use the powerline?
- A: Hi,
These units will not work over a DLan / Ethernet over Power device. Sorry, but a seperate (dedicated) network cable is needed between the sender and receiver. Thanks for checking.

Q: I have 2 rooms i need to put this product in? Am i correct by thinking if I have 2 of these i will only require 1 reciever (goes into the sky box / media player) and 2 transmitter or i only need to buy two of these and will only need to use either 1 reciever \ 1 transmitter without needing a splitter since the same signal will be sent?
need an answer quick so I can get buying- A: Hi,
Thanks for the question. In this kit you get 1 transmitter (that you could connect your SKY HD Box too) and one receiver (that you would connect your TV too in the other room). You cannot connect 2 transmitters to one reciever, by a splitter, switch or other means as the connection has to be point to point. If you have 2 HDMI devices you want to send the HD signal to on a TV in another room, then you will need a HDMI Switch, 'before' the transmitter. Then you can switch between the HD sources accordingly. As this would be in another room, we would suggest perhaps a HDMI switch with a remote control. You can then consider a seperate wireless IR, so you could then control the switch from the room with the TV in. (Just an idea!). Hope this helps!
