Very handy Review by Stuart
Price Value Quality Very useful item, as most HDMI exenders require 2 Cat5's, and seems to handle the video well.

Works great Review by Mark
Price Value Quality Works great for me, sending video from room to room over a 15m CAT6 cable. Be aware that it's HDMI 1.2 not 1.3 however (not that it generally makes much difference).

Worked flawlessly, amazing price. Review by ISI Vision
Value Quality Price Great HDMI extender, single cable Balun at the price of most budget two cable systems. Pricing is great, and delivery couldn't have been faster, ordered at lunchtime, had it next morning! Will be back for more.

Questions & Answers on
HDMI over Single Cat5 Cat6 HD Extender Transmitter and Receiver 50m / 160ft
-
Q: Will I need IR Tx/rx cables to control the HDMI input remotely?
- A: Hi,
This device does not transmit an Infra-Red / Remote signal, so yes you will need extra senders or receivers, perhaps wireless, in order to control the source device from your display. Hope this helps!
Question asked by FB at 17:08 on 03/08/2011 -
Q: Hi,
Is it possible to buy just the receiver unit? I already have one of these but would like to have a second receiver so I can switch between my existing receiver and a second room by switching the cables over. Could you give me an idea of cost?- A: Rich,
Unfortunately these are sold in pairs, ie a transmitter and receiver in each kit. Instead of switching cables each time, have you considered installing a 2 way HDMI splitter in front of the CAT 5 / 6 transmitter(s)? Then you can send the HD signal to both screens at the same time? Search our site for code: 900402. Hope this helps.

Q: Hi,
Excuse my ignorance but do I have to cut and re-wire the Cat6 cable for this product to work or is it a simple plug-and-play set up where the ethernet cable works with the adaptors connected?
Thanks, Andrew...- A: Hi,
This device will work with any standard network (CAT 6 / CAT 5) pre-wired cable. We stock a range of CAT 6 network cables, see the product page and related products for our range available. No cables are supplied with this as all installations of course vary. Thanks!

Q: Hi,
I have a single CAT5e cable run. would this work with audio and video? or would it be video only?
thanks
Rav- A: Rav,
Hi, this sends HD audio and video together. Hope this helps!
Question asked by Rav at 17:34 on 24/01/2011 -
Q: Will this product work via a powerline system?
IE the ethernet connections around my house run via 200mbps powerline connectors utilising the domestic AC electrical wiring.- A: Hi,
The manufacturers advise that this needs a direct connection via Ethernet / Network Cable. DLAN or Ethernet over Power devices will not work with this device. Sorry!
Question asked by Simon at 13:17 on 08/01/2011 -
Q: Hi have a few questions which would help me decide if this is the right product.
1.) I have cat6 cables run throughout my house into rooms via Wall plates, they are interconnected using a gigabit switch, will this product work with this setup?
2.) You have another similar product that transmits using 2 Ethernet cables, with that product do I have to use 2 Ethernet cables or is it possible to use just the one of them.
3.) Can I buy additional recievers on their own?- A: Hi,
The manufacturers advise that this needs a direct connection via Ethernet / Network Cable. Network Switches will not work with this device. Sorry! The 2 x Ethernet Cable kit is quite a bit cheaper, but does need both cables to run together to allow for the kit to work and carry the HD content. As this is a point to point solution, additional receivers are not availble. If you wanted to distribute the HD signal, then a HDMI distribution amplifier would be required, like our code: 900404. Thanks!
Question asked by Nilesh at 10:27 on 07/01/2011 -
Q: There is only 1 power supply, Which end needs this power supply?
Thx
Will
- A: Will,
Our mistake. This device actually has a power supply for the transmitter and another one for the receiver. (An earlier version we stocked did not). We have now updated the product page to reflect this. Thanks for checking with us!
Question asked by Will at 09:50 on 11/11/2010 -
Q: Is this product compatible with Sky HD?
- A: Edward,
Hi, quite simply - yes! You just need to add the HDMI Cables at each end and the lengths of CAT 6 cable you need between the sender and receiver.
Question asked by Edward at 13:45 on 11/10/2010 -
Q: I have in wall wiring with a connection point in my cupboard. Would this workwith that? i.e. the set up would be HDMI to box to Ethernet to Connection point in cupboard to Ethernet connection next to TV to box top HDMI??? Will this break up the signal too much?
- A: Steven,
Normally this kit would require a point to point direct cable (cat) connection. However, if you just have a patch panel to connect to that provides a connection between rooms, then as long as the cable quality is there and you do not have an excessive cable distance, then feel no reason why this would not work for you!
Question asked by Steven at 14:00 on 08/10/2010 -
Q: Hi there can i ask can it be run through a cable that is running through a hub? or has it to be a single cable run with nothing in between?
- A: Sean,
Hi, a direct connection is needed in order for this to work. Thanks for checking!
