Overview of:
iPod to Car Radio Line In Aux Cable
iPod to Car Radio Line In Aux Cable
Connects your iPod to the Line in or Aux, MP3 input on your car. Please check your car has a line input or Aux in, MP3 player input before purchase. This connection looks like a headphone socket and is a 3.5mm stereo socket.
You can then listen to your iPod in your car as normal. In some cars like the BMW 1 series the line input socket can be found in the centre console, thus allowing you to store your player out of sight too.
If you car has steering mounted controls, you can of course turn the volume up/down as you would normally, but you will not be able to control the player or skip tracks etc. You would need a specialist dock connection for this and your vehicles radio would need to support this type too.
So to summarise, this cable is a great and simple way to listen to your player in the car and very, very affordable too. Most car dealerships charge anything between £20 to £40 for this solution!!!
But my car has 2 Red and White RCA Phono inputs?
No problem, if you have 2 red and white (sometimes red and black too), round sockets on your stereo, perhaps on the rear of your head unit or tucked away in a glove box etc, then you would need the following cable:
