Male to Female USB Cable - An explanation!
Most standard USB cables are indeed a male to male USB Cable, usually an A-B, computer to device, like a printer for example. Occasionally though, you may need an extension cable, ie a male to female. A Male A to Female A type cable. This would allow you to extend your USB cable already in use by adding this to just one end of your standard cable.Be warned though, extending USB cables over 3-5 metres can prove unreliable, without the need for a USB signal booster, or use of USB mains powered HUB. Other solutions include, USB over Cat5 senders and receivers. These allow you to extend a USB device over many metres, are very reliable and fairly easy to install, due to the nature of, how small network cable is.
