Price Value Quality The Scart to USB 2.0 Video Capture Cable Kit provides one of the easiest means of capturing media content from all of those old VHS tapes that you have stored away. When the correct settings are applied for PAL or NTSC TV live broadcasts, high quality raw video files can be saved to your PC but ensure that you have a spare hard drive with at least a terabyte of size to store the files as these are uncompressed and ready for conversion and editing.

i have just purchased a seagate external hard drive, i have installed some films on it.
the connection is a usb.
On my LG tv it only has hdmi and scart , do you sell leads that will connect ok.

Hi, a standard External USB Drive does not allow for direct to TV connections. This SCART kit is only for use on a PC or Laptop. You will have to continue to use your External Seagate with your computer / laptop, then just get a kit to connect the computer or laptop to the TV. Q: i play ps3 online in hd and would like to record my gameplay to make videos with but every thing i read about seems to say that it would require me not to play in hd anymore would this cable be able to record my gameplay while i play in hd as i really do not want to have to use normal cables again

Hi, If you connect your Display to your PS3 with a HDMI Cable (HD Signal), then you connect the standard RCA Audio Video (Standard Signal) outputs to this Kit (to your PC or Laptop) at the same time, then you should be able to record what you are playing at the same time too. This kit only records in Standard Definition, not HD. Hope this helps!

Q: In a block of flats, have TV and CCTV coming in through communal aerial.
CCTV is viewable now on my Sony TV (I just switch to channel 6)
As Sony TV has SCART socket, can I connect this item it and the other end to my laptop, and somehow record the CCTV (for evidence purposes) ? Does it come with recording software, or would I need to buy extra?

This kit will allow you to record from any video source. Check if your Sony TV allows for the SCART Video signal to go 'out'... if it does then yes this will work. It comes with video recording software, but it does not put a time and date over the image. So for legal reasons, we don't think it would be best suited in this case. However, do a quick search online for cctv recording software online and we are sure there will be an affordable bit of software out there. This kit allows you to record from SCART, S-Video (4 pin) and Composite Video (RCA - Yellow). Once installed, most surveillance software should recognise it too. Hope this helps!

Hi, you can view and record the VHS content on / to your laptop with this kit. A preview window allows this in the software. You would connect the SCART to the Video Player and the USB to the Laptop, the audio will travel down the same cables. Hope this helps!

I have an older TV that ONLY has scart connections no USB slots - I would like to connect my PS3 to this TV but the TV needs a USB connection to do so. Will this allow me to play my PS3 on my TV that only has Scart connections? i.e. will this allow me to connect my PS3 to my older TV?

No this kit is not suitable as it only works on computers. It also only works one way... that is SCART / Video >> to >> USB. So that it can record video from a SCART device TO a computer. Did your PS3 not come with a AV out cable and SCART Adapter? Thanks.

Hi, if your intention is to record / grab the gameplay from a PS3 and record it to a computer or laptop, then yes, this will allow that. If though, you want to connect a PS3 to your computer so to watch and play games on your laptops screen, then we would not recommend this. The software is not suited to this type of application. Perhaps consider a USB TV tuner with AV input instead. Hope this helps!
