This kit simply provides you with a female HDMI port for your laptop or computer. An actual HDMI Cable is not included, as we offer various lengths seperately.
In the kit you will find a USB to DVI converter, DVI to HDMI adapter and an audio lead. You will need of course a spare USB port on your laptop or PC.
How to use this Kit.
When you have connected this from your PC / Laptop to your TV. Your Windows operating system will recognise that you have added a further display port you can use. You can set this up to either,
1 - Clone (copy/mirror) your existing Windows content over 2 screens or
2 - Run as an extended desktop over 2 screens at the same time. (With an extended desktop, you can then have an internet browser running on your monitor and perhaps, YouTube playing on your HDMI display. Just an idea!)
We include a handy audio cable, a 3.5mm to 2 x RCA Phono 2.5m cable, so that you can connect the sound output from your laptop or PC to the audio input on either speakers, or the 2 x RCA phono input most HDMI TV's have.*
Do I need anything else?
Yes! Finally, you will then need a HDMI Cable to connect the kit to your HD Ready Display. * - Audio inputs on your HDMI Display?
OK, we know that HDMI normally sends video and audio, but as this kit converts USB to HDMI (via DVI), no audio is sent along the kit. The included audio lead, will work in most cases. Please check that your speakers or display has a red/white or red/black RCA Phono sockets for audio in (included). Your speakers may just have a 3.5mm stereo jack input (not included), so please check before purchase. Do please get in touch if in doubt or see related items and just add a male to male audio cable to your order.
I want to connect a USB Drive to my TV directly?
This kit is not suitable for connecting a USB hard drive directly to a TV, but we do have a solution for that too! See related items for our 'USB Hard Drive to HDMI TV Cable Converter Media Player'. Hope that helps!

Price Value Quality Excellent product that has enabled me to connect my Dell laptop to a Sony LCD Bravia TV - I am only using the connection for showing photographs so cannot comment on the audio connection.
Product packaging was excellent and instructions clear - only comment is that on my laptop I can only get full screen on TV by ensuring the laptop display is OFF. (edit: You need to enable extended display mode in Display Settings - Support)

Price Value Quality Items purchased were, simply, as advertised. Easily understood instructions and well packaged all added to the good service (albeit I felt delivery was a little slow at 2 weeks or so).

Connecting laptop to TV Review by Philip
Quality Price Value The device which connects my laptop to the tv works superbly. I had initial problems setting it up due to being a technophobe but with the help from the suppliers it worked first time. The only comment I can make is that the HDMI cable I bought was too short (1m). I would recommend always buying a 2-3m HDMI cable with this device as it allows for more flexibility.
A wonderful gadget to have, even though it may not be used all the time. 5 star rating for usability and 5 stars for the supplies for the help given.

Value Quality Price My client had bought a 50inch lcd tv with only hdmi outlet and tasked me to project the images from here p.c onto it. The pc only has vga output and initial enquiries were beginning to make this seem a costly mistake. Your adapter resolved this for under £100.

Q: My laptop is a HP G56 and i really want to connect it to the tv, however my tv has a hdmi slot but my laptop doesnt and only has USB ports, will this product work for me?

Hi, we do not believe this will support the bandwidth needed for 3D Films (via USB) to the HDMI converter in this kit, to allow for 3D TV, thanks for checking first though!

Q: Hi!
i have a laptop with a HDMI port however the port no longer works and its too expensive to repair. as my laptop has the function already built in to transfer picture and sound to my TV would this USB adapter be able to transfer picture as well as sound?
