VGA Monitor Splitter Cable Y Lead will allow you to clone your computer desktop to 2 screens at the same time, great for training or presentations. Useful on laptops where you may want to connect a projector and a screen at the same time. Perhaps you have a document camera and need to connect it to a white board and screen at the same time?

Therefore this cable will show the SAME computer desktop on each projector or screen at eactly the same time! It splits the one VGA computer output into two.

However, this is NOT for adding a further display, for multiple application use. If you want to be able to have a dual screen desktop, then you will have to look at a couple of options!

If you want a dual screen (or more) desktop

1 - Upgrade your graphics card to a dual head (twin outputs) card. These are relatively cheap enough, but you will need to know how to open up your PC, decide on the correct card and of course install it.

2 - Get a USB to VGA adapter. These are easy to install (via USB) and can get you adding a 2nd or 3rd monitor in no time.

3 - Get a USB to DVI adapter. If you monitor supports the newer DVI inputs, then make the most of it by adding this converter to your computer.

Then you can benefit from 'dragging' your applications between windows, opening multiple applications at the same time... See related items below for details!

Also, as this is not an amplifier (just a splitter cable), you might find that a mains powered splitter box is the better option if you intend to use 5m or longer VGA cables. See below for our VGA Amplifier and 2 Way Distribution Box solution!

If you want to connect 2 computers to 1 screen, this is not for you! You need a VGA Switch Box, see items below. You could then share and switch between the computers to the 1 display.
