VGA to TV Video Cable Converter

I previously tried the Laptop S-video to TV S video connection (also from Cables and Leads) but having gone through 2 sets realised the fault was probably the lack of robustness of the laptop jack and I needed something more substantial. the VGA to TV Video Cable Converter though expensive, does exactly the job intended and so far (3 uses) looks like it will last longer than the S-video.
Summary: Expensive but may be worth it for a more robust and reliable connection.

Having recently upgraded my DVD recorder and laptop, both of which had no S-Video imput/output, I was keen to find a way to record directly from the internet to my DVD recorder. After reading other reviews, I decided that the vga converter might do the job.
The unit arrived in a few days and I had it up and running in about ten minutes. I had far more cables than I could possibly use in a lifetime to play with, but only needed the scart and a couple of others to get it working.
I am very, very pleased with the simplicity of the vga converter. It is at least £20 cheaper than other similar products I have researched and it does the job. Many thanks to the Cables & Leads company for providing such a valuable service.

Don't reall know why I've only given it 4 stars. It does what it's supposed to do fine. Just really wanted to say that I was pleased to have good phone support because I'm an idiot & needed my hand held while I set the thing up. Thanks goes to the patient man on the phone.

Fast delivery - does everything it claims. I runa Disco Karaoke buisness and had problems connecting to televisions at venues from my new laptop. This sorted it no problem!!
Connects to every television with good picture.

I bought this to work with my laptop that has slingbox software. I wanted to be able to watch on my UK TV on my Spanish set....more cables than you need, took me a while to figure out how to get the sound, although obvious now done.

Box feels a bit cheap that has all the connectors but does the job well.

I bought this so I could connect my Spainish TV to my laptop (where I am connecting my slingbox software).

Connecting was easy for picture but the sound fooled me, didnt have anything in the manual, but after a few moments thought I worked it out.

Great item & more cables than I needed !

i bought this to use with a media PC until we upgrade to a HDTV. Setting it up was very simple, and the box included far more cables than I had been expecting, which was nice.

I had it up and running pretty quickly, and got our widescreen TV showing 1280x768 without any fuss. The only resolution it didn't seem to work with was 720p, but that's not really a problem given that the higher resolution works fine.

Build quality is nice, there are several different connection options (and it comes with cables for all of them); its also very nice that this box has a VGA output (as well as input) so you can hook up a TV and a regular PC monitor simultaneously through a single VGA port.

The box has 2 display adjustment buttons, and this is the one area where perhaps the system has some limitations - i have been unable to get the picture fully onto the TV screen - the picture sits about 50 pixels too far to the left. I actually struggled to get any effect more than a couple of pixel's motion (or an unwanted zoom effect) out of the adjustment buttons, but i may have been using them wrongly - the instruction manual is quite sparse!

That aside, this is a great piece of kit though, and I'd definately recommend it.

We had difficulty in getting computer output to a CRT TV for training purposes. This box was simplicity itself. A few minutes connection and the job was done. Highly recommended

Now I can record off the net onto my DVD recorder and watch on my CRT TV. Exellent! Better quality picture than I was expecting too.
